Together with our partners we have made tangible differences to the lives of the people in the Kangchenjunga region
Our Education programme has transformed school attendances and we have provided teachers with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to help children learn and grow. Our child centred teacher training programme is helping to create a new generation of literate and numerate children from poor families in remote mountainous areas in Nepal. In addition, we have rebuilt or renovated school buildings and classrooms across the region which have transformed the learning environment for children and teachers.
A dedicated Health programme started in 2013. Our needs assessments revealed extremely poor health knowledge and behaviours by villagers and very poor access to health services. Our programme has empowered remote communities to be healthier and achieve better well-being with one of the main achievements a zero maternity death rate.
When the world was at its most isolated, these mountaineers didn’t forget Nepal’s mountain communities. Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Kenton Cool, Ben Fogle, the late Jan Morris and Sir Chris Bonington are people who understand what it means to persevere in extreme conditions, and they’re telling you that the work Hillary started is still vital.
There is plenty more work to be done in our current Health and Education programmes and with your help we can do even more to help the mountain people of Nepal. Life is hard for the mountain people.
We aim to offer help where we can in the Kangchenjunga region. All of our projects are requested by the mountain people who do much of the work themselves, and are thus efficiently run. We are experienced as a Trust. We have a network of contacts developed over decades, and yet continuously look to improve how we manage and monitor our work.
We welcome your gift of any amount. Money stretches a very long way in the Himalaya and even a modest donation can change a life.

The communities of Taplejung will appreciate any support you feel able to give. We welcome your help with donating or fundraising any amount. Money stretches a very long way in the Himalaya and even a modest donation can change a life.
The Trust is entirely run by volunteers allowing us to put your money to work, almost entirely, where it is needed most. You can get involved through fundraising for us (we are on Justgiving!), attending one of our events, be an ambassador for our work by following us on social media and to become a regular donor.
