We are delighted to share our 2025 Annual Report and to report a year of real milestone moments. Twelve of our 35 schools are now rated excellent. Every birth in Ikhabu was attended by a skilled birth attendant. And we have committed to expanding our Education Programme from 35 to 54 schools in 2026.

Education: A programme coming of age
Years of sustained investment in teacher training, school leadership and community engagement are paying off:
• 12 schools now rated excellent, up from zero in 2018.
• Dropout rate fallen from 13.3% in 2009 to just 1.2% – well below Nepal’s national average.
• Average exam pass rate risen to 85%, up from 71% in 2023.
• 106 scholarships awarded to date; nearly a third of recipients now in professional roles.
Health: Communities leading their own care
Across Ikhabu, Sungsabu, Lelep and Yamphudin, the results reflect what sustained, community-led investment can achieve:
• Zero maternal deaths across all health posts.
• 100% of births in Ikhabu attended by a skilled birth attendant, up from 80% in 2024.
• 96% of newborns in Ikhabu fully immunised, up from 74%.
Ikhabu and Sungsabu have now completed our intensive Community Health Awareness Programme and are now in a position to increasingly sustain and lead this work themselves.
Built on local partnerships
These results do not happen through external intervention alone. They happen when local health workers, teachers and community committees take ownership – and when sustained investment gives them the tools to do so. Our trustees visit Nepal bi-annually, plan on a ten-year horizon and are in regular contact with our local teams. This is a long-term, trusted partnership.
